From Theory to the Field: Launching Our Pilot Training Sessions

From Theory to the Field: Launching Our Pilot Training Sessions

Testing, refining, and perfecting: How 120 adult learners are helping us shape the future of aromatic plant education.

Creating a curriculum is one thing; ensuring it works effectively for diverse learners across different countries is another. This is why the Pilot Trainings are a critical phase of the Aromatic Horizons Erasmus+ project. Before our training modules and digital catalogue are released to the general public, they must undergo rigorous testing in the real world.

The Classroom in the Garden

Our pilot training sessions are currently being organized simultaneously in our four partner countries: Türkiye, France, Slovakia, and the Netherlands. The goal is to bring together a total of 120 participants (30 in each country) to be the very first users of our educational materials.

These participants are not just students; they are our collaborators. Ranging from rural residents looking for new income opportunities to enthusiasts eager to learn about sustainable farming, they represent the exact audience this project aims to serve.

What Happens During the Pilots?

During these sessions, trainers deliver the newly created modules on aromatic plant cultivation and entrepreneurship. The training blends theoretical knowledge with practical application. Participants engage with topics such as:

  • Soil analysis and preparation for aromatic crops.
  • Organic farming techniques specific to local climates.
  • Business modeling for small-scale rural enterprises.

However, the most important part of the pilot training is the feedback loop.

Your Voice Shapes the Result

At the end of each session, we ask the hard questions: Was the content clear? Was the digital catalogue easy to navigate? Did the material provide practical value?

The feedback collected from these 120 pioneering participants is analyzed by our project partners. Based on their insights, we fine-tune the modules—simplifying complex technical terms, adding more examples where needed, or adjusting the pacing of the lessons.

Towards the Final Launch

These pilot trainings ensure that the final version of the Aromatic Horizons educational package is not just an academic exercise, but a user-friendly, field-tested toolkit ready to empower thousands of future farmers across Europe.

We thank all our pilot participants for their invaluable contribution to making this project a success.
